We were watching Holland beating up Italy last night and I met two very nice people from India. They are visiting Amsterdam for the 5th time or so and they love it. The cake served in some restaurants is a bit heavy though. We talked about Asia and the development taking place in the region. I pointed out the Dutch government talks about this and tells us all to anticipate, but still they don't have a clue about what's really going on. In order for us lazy western civilization to keep up and keep our status quo we need to open up and partner with China, India etc. We need to become an active participant in the growth of these new champions. Same with Africa, help rebuild their infrastructure and share the wealth across the nations. What happens if we don't? Maybe we will become members of the bottom billion club?
