Independent IP (IIP) is
seeking an experienced system administrator to join the Technical Operations
team.
Together with team members,
your responsibility will be to plan and manage the datacenter infrastructure,
including: servers and services, networking, databases, networking, firewalls,
backup, security, monitoring, incident management, and more. You will bring
your knowledge to the evolving datacenter architecture, as well as get your
hands dirty with daily management. In addition, you will be called on to
support office infrastructure.
IIP offers a demanding and
fast-paced working environment, in an informal, international start-up
atmosphere. Corporate language is English.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage all
elements of the IIP data center infrastructure
- Design technical
architecture and procedures
- Analyze security and
availability risks
- Monitor and respond
pro actively to resource bottlenecks
- Manage incidents and
system failures
- Change and release
management
- Automate management where
possible
- Configuration and maintenance of Company’s office
infrastructure such as employee hardware, phone-lines, internet
connections, email accounts, virus-scanners and intra-server.
- Researching, advising-on and installation of
necessary business applications such as CRM systems, file-share and email
systems
Required:
- Deep expertise managing
Web applications on Unix/Linux on a large scale (Jrocket/Resin, Ruby on
Rails, Ubuntu)
- IP networking skills –
routing, switching, firewalls (PIX).
- Basic relational database
administration skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Broad IT security
knowledge (nmap, Snort)
- Affiliation with open
source, while keeping an open mind
- Programming/scripting
skills
- Knowledge of change and
release management and testing procedures
- Knowledge of Mac OS X and
Windows XP for office support
- Fluent spoken and written
English
