I am so happy to have this great team to execute on my dream to make IIP happen. In previous ventures I was so happy to be the director, now a bit wiser I am so happy to have had the creativity and enthusiasm to take IIP from a brainwave to a concept and to a company and finally let a team of specialists build the business. I know by now I am too unstructured, chaotic and creative to make the next step. So it's all about timing, when to do this? My thoughts about the timing never stop, do I do the right thing? Now FUGA is ready to hit the market and those who know what it is are amazed by its power, I believe my job should be selling it. Together with a great team this should be fun and exiting. Managing people, expectations and all the rest just doesn't seem to stick on me.  So I use the people and development inside IIP  as my  guide and suddenly everything starts to flow like never before. Development just rocks here, operations  take care of everything and finance keeps control, while Albert makes everybody  work together. WOW!  I  think I did the right thing to  hand it all over  and let Albert take the dream to become reality without a crazy guy having new ideas all the time and bothering everybody with them ;-)  Keep watching our great venture! EMI cashes in on unprotected music sales

Its way to early to draw conclusions about this DRM free decision. But at the end of the day it just makes a lot of sense for EMI (or any other major record company) to do this and to find positive results on the way to new success. But just selling DRM free will not bring the results that EMI or any other business needs to find success that sustains. For a deep impact the second hurdle to take is price. Once the price points are right and music can be used without restrictions and consumers can benefit from the innovations of digital the critical mass will embrace legal downloading and leave illegal downloading and file sharing behind. Revenues and profit will increase but its a numbers game. So price and business model differentiation will be key after the technology is sorted and music can flow from A to B without too many issues. Advertising based models? Bundles (Cable subscription + Telephony + Music + Movies + TV etc) I would love to see that cookie crumble with a lot of benefit for young talent. They are the future of music and nothing else!

Amsterdam Supperclub

Two times in one week visiting the Supperclub. The good old times are gone ;-( Yesterday the place had an art gallery of some photographer that likes naked women. Nothing wrong with that, but it was all a bit staged. The next day the models will do their trick for some major brand again, no SEX, just nice pictures. If you make art like that do it like Terry Rodgers. Always good to see cat woman. We had fun, thats whats important. Pics >>

Back in Amsterdam

Arrived back in AMS yesterday with my family. What a great trip. I met so many fantastic people on my trip through Singapore, Indonesia and Australia. A special thank you to CD farms in Indonesia. They have managed to create a great project growing flowers and supporting a region with work. Chris did a fantastic job and all my respect to this. Check out the pictures in the Photo albums.
