The Recording Industry Assn. of America (RIAA) has contacted satellite radio giants XM and Sirius, expressing its worry over new portable players to be unveiled this fall. The devices will allow listeners to record and store songs, according to an informed source. >> Billboard
Gotshrimp>> Fearing new technologies is as stupid as fearing anything. I remember listening to the radio and recording without the DJ talking. Many times my own compilations had 'dirt' in them ;-) RIAA try a new approach for a change. Anything that happens via XM and others in this space can be monitored, so when a song is recorded the IP owner should charge XM for that as of it is a download for example the pample.. VIVA!
