Executives at EMI Group on Monday said they planned to begin rolling out CDs with technology designed to limit copying. The technology allows buyers to burn onto CDs only three full copies of a disc's songs, and the burned discs cannot be copied. >> LA times
gotshrimp >> As an iPOD owner I get realy upset when my new purchased cd is equipped with a player and can't be copied to my iPOD. The music industry wonders why their revenues are declining?? I have a tip: Pinkslip for all legal employees, marketing managers, E&R managers, retail managers, manager managers and all employees that don't want the industry to change so they have to change. After doing that rent a smaller office and implement new company values like support musicians and talent also in times of change or time of decline. Adapt to all new standards without fear but with sense of opportunity and respect for those that make the change. Let the politics work on the legal and prosecution side of things and focus on bringing out all music on demand. The money will come out of itself: ADD MORE VALUE and TAKE LESS from those that create! VIVA!
